Bernadette Cattaneo is the Founder and CEO of The Lakes Treatment Center, a family-owned addiction treatment center in Copperopolis, Northern California.
Cattaneo turned an aging lakeside resort into an addiction treatment center after personal exposure to the damage addiction can cause in families and communities. The Lakes opened in March 2015 and grew into a sprawling 76-bed program offering detox, residential, therapy, psychiatry, medical care, dual diagnosis support, and a recovery setting shaped by Lake Tulloch and outdoor experiences.
Widely recognized for pairing compassion with persistency, Cattaneo is a fierce healthcare advocate who stepped up when patients needed her most. She fought to protect access to medically necessary treatment, stood beside patients through complex appeals, and never lost sight of the human lives behind every coverage decision. Her leadership shows courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to making sure people in recovery are treated with dignity, urgency, and care.
